Gregg Williams Withdraws Name From Consideration for Titans Coaching Job

By his own choice, Gregg Williams won't be in the running for the Tennessee Titans' coaching position after all.

Williams, the New Orleans Saints' defensive coordinator the past two seasons, withdrew his name from consideration for the Titans' head coaching job, John Glennon of The Tennessean reported on Wednesday.

The Titans had received permission to interview Williams earlier in the week.

Tennessee have interviewed two assistants on the current staff -- offensive line coach Mike Munchak and offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger -- and have received permission to speak with Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey and New York Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.
