It's not as if the fickle fans in Montreal have forgotten how much excitement Jaroslav Halak brought into their lives last spring, but that playoff run is history and Canadiens goalie Carey Price has done more than his job to silence his critics.
Price has been red-hot of late, allowing only three goals on the last 140 shots he has faced. Suffice it to say, he is a big reason why the Canadiens were in third place in the Eastern Conference heading into Thursday's game against Nashville.
It's amusing how Price has gone from hero to villain -- and now back to hero -- in Montreal, but that comes with the territory of playing for the fabled Canadiens in a market that lives and breathes hockey year-round.
Canadiens coach Jacques Martin can probably relate. He was a hero in Ottawa when he took the Senators to the Stanley Cup Finals, and then a flub in Florida as GM of the sad-sack Panthers, only to be vaulted back atop the heap as coach of the Canadiens.
