Panthers vs. Buccaneers Preview, Score and More

Tampa Bay is 5-3 and officially one of the surprise teams of the NFL. The Buccaneers still have work to do. They need defensive tackle Gerald McCoy to get some traction. They need to get consistent in the run game. Josh Freeman needs to rediscover tight end Kellen Winslow.

All those things are possible against 1-7 Carolina, which is officially one of the most disappointing teams of the NFL. The Panthers have the worst offense in the NFL and they will try and fix things with a rookie quarterback, who is backed up by a rookie quarterback, who is also backed up by a rookie quarterback.

There will be another blackout in Tampa as the organization punishes the citizens who helped it build a stadium with taxpayer funds.

Who: Carolina vs. Tampa

When:
Sunday, 1 p.m.

Where: Tampa's Raymond James Stadium

TV: FOX

Players to Watch:
There is a shuffling of players going on around McCoy, who does not have a sack this season. Watch as he tries to get a little more dominant. Winslow has cooled off because of double-teams and the emergence of rookie wide receivers. Is this the week he is targeted more? It will be interesting to see how LeGarrette Blount responds to a rough ending in Atlanta where he was get stonewalled on fourth-and-short. Center Jeff Faine will take back the starting job after being out a month with a quad injury. Jeff Larsen who took over at left guard when Jeremy Zuttah moved to center stays at left guard.

Tampa Bay LB Quincy Black is questionable with an ankle injury. How well will he move? Dakota Watson, a rookie, might slide in for some snaps.
