John Wall Pulls Out of Game With Injury; Tyreke Evans Struggles

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Flip Saunders' team hadn't shown much willingness to work hard for an extended period of time, so the Wizards' coach wasn't about to extend himself either.

That much was clear in his postgame press conference on Wednesday night at Arco Arena, where he spent a grand total of one minute, eight seconds answering three questions about a 116-91 blowout loss to a Kings team that entered with the league's worst record and an eight-game losing streak. And that, for the record, is a generous time estimate.

No one could blame Saunders for being frustrated, though. Not only did his Wizards fall to 0-11 on the road this season (they're 6-3 at home), but they played without rookie point guard John Wall after he was seemingly scratched seconds before tipoff.

Wall, who had already missed six games with a sprained left foot but played in the last four, said he was going to play before tipoff. He told Gilbert Arenas he was going to play, and was even announced in the starting lineup as both teams took the floor.
