Video: Toronto FC Becomes Third MLS Team to Tie in Mexico

Filed under: MLS, Columbus Crew, Toronto FCToronto FC became just the third MLS team to avoid defeat in Mexico when it secured a 0-0 draw at Cruz Azul in a CONCACAF Champions League game late Tuesday night.

Major League Soccer's all-time record now stands at 0-20-3 in Mexico. The other two draws were earned by D.C. United (at Toluca in 2009) and the Houston Dynamo (at UNAM Pumas in 2008). That's three points in three years -- at this rate a win is just around a few corners.

Toronto's result was all the more remarkable considering the exhausting nature of the past week. Head coach Preki Radosavljevic and GM Mo Johnston were fired on Sept. 14, and the club then won a dramatic game in Houston on Saturday to preserve its flickering MLS playoff hopes. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
