Vikings-Saints Ratings Get NFL Off to Booming Start

Sure enough, NBC wasted no time Friday crowing that its telecast of Thursday's NFL opener between Minnesota and New Orleans got those bigger numbers -- and then some.

The Vikings-Saints game, pitting the two franchises that met in last January's NFC championship game, posted a 17.7 rating and 28 share, according to overnight data from Nielsen.
