Man Dies of Heart Attack During New England Patriots Opener

Filed under: Patriots, NFL FansA fan who required medical attention at Sunday's season-opening game Gillette Stadium died a short time later a nearby hospital, according to CBS 3-Springfield.

The television station reported the 40-year-old man from Chicopee, Mass., who attended the game with his 6-year-old son, suffered a massive heart attack an hour before kickoff. Authorities have refused to release the man's name.

Emergency personnel initially thought the man was having a seizure, but soon realized he was having a heart attack and transported him to the hospital.
