Bill Belichick Denies Randy Moss Incident, Calls WR a 'Pleasure to Coach'

Bill BelichickBill Belichick denied reports out of New England that he and Randy Moss exchanged words on the Patriots' plane ride home from Miami last Monday and that exchange led to Moss' trade to the Vikings on Wednesday morning.

Speaking for the first time since the trade, Belichick said the departed wideout's behavior was never an issue in the four seasons he spent with the Patriots.

"There has never been any incident or discipline problems with Randy," Belichick said.

As for whether or not anything actually happened on the plane?

"Absolutely not true. Total fabrication," he said. "I didn't even talk to Randy on the plane. No incident. Never had one with Randy. Not in four years."

Belichick was asked if quarterback Tom Brady had any say in the decision to trade Moss to the Vikings and he answered: "Tom doesn't make personnel decisions. Tom's a player."
