Presidents Bush to Throw Out First Pitches at World Series Game 4

Former Presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush will throw out ceremonial first pitches Sunday before Game 4 of the World Series between the Rangers and the Giants.

George W. Bush was managing general partner of the Rangers from 1989-94 and continued to maintain a partial ownership stake through 1998. He now lives in Dallas and has been a regular presence at Rangers home playoff games. His father, a Houston area resident, is more often seen at Astros games.

Baseball runs deep in the family, though, with a legacy stretching back to the elder Bush's days as a first baseman at Yale.

They won't be the only presidents drawing first-pitch duties this weekend, either. Rangers president Nolan Ryan will do the honors Saturday before Game 3, reprising his not-so-ceremonial fastball that preceded Game 1 of the ALCS against the Yankees.
