After watching his teammates overwhelm the Bears with 10 sacks in last week's 17-3 victory, Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwaunka predicted that he wouldn't be sidelined much longer with the cervical disc injury that had flared up two days earlier and had landed him on the inactive list against Chicago.
"Anything is possible and I'm trying to stay optimistic," Kiwanuka said. "The way these guys fought out there today, it makes me want to get back a little faster."However, Kiwanuka, who led New York with four sacks during the first three games compared to just two for his teammates, won't play Sunday at Houston after not practicing all week.
"We are going to wait," said coach Tom Coughlin, who seems to expect Kiwanuka not to return before Nov. 7 at Seattle, the week after New York's bye.
