The Knee-Jerk Society of America is embarrassing itself again. This time, it involves college football. And, no, we're not talking about their silly push for a playoff system involving the big boys of the sport.This is worse. This is about members of that society claiming all college athletes who pass, block, run, tackle, dribble or shoot for their schools should get paid as if they were professionals, which would mean they wouldn't be amateurs anymore.
Stupid.
That same adjective applies to those yelling for a playoff system, but we'll discuss that another day.
As for paying college athletes -- football and basketball players, in particular, which is what members of that society really want -- it's a subject that often leaps from the shadows before returning to darkness, where it should remain forever, by the way.
