Kevin Kolb to Start Again, Eagles Mum on Michael Vick's Status

Kevin Kolb, Michael VickKevin Kolb will get another start this weekend, even though Michael Vick practiced on Friday.

Vick still isn't 100 percent as he recovers from his rib injury, so coach Andy Reid announced on Friday that Kolb will make his second consecutive start when the Eagles face the Falcons. Reid wasn't willing to explain whether Vick will dress or not, and he wouldn't say if Vick could be the team's No. 2 quarterback on Sunday.

"I'm not going to tell you it's pain-free, but he doesn't have the same pain as he had before," Reid said. "It's the improvement that he is making every day. He's going from throwing a little bit yesterday, throwing a little bit more today, taking a handoff ... Taking a snap would have been tough a few days ago or a week ago."

This will be Kolb's third start of the season. He's 1-1 in his first two starts, although Michael Vick had to take over in the season-opening loss to the Packers because Kolb was knocked out of the game. The fourth-year quarterback has been reasonably effective, but he's drawn criticism for his hesitation to throw downfield. He's seemed much more comfortable checking down than throwing deep to wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson.

The Eagles also confirmed that defensive tackle Broderick Bunkley and left tackle Jason Peters will miss the game. Peters' replacement King Dunlap has given up three sacks in limited time as his replacement.
